Our first summer swim
This was actually a few weeks ago, I'm a bit behind on my blogging, but we took Tobi to the Scera pool for our first summer swim and we had a blast! The pool was perfect for little kids and Tobi loved it. We got him a puddle jumper life jacket and you would not believe how much that boosted his confidence in the water. Since then he wants to swim almost every day. Our pool at the complex opened up a couple weeks ago and we've taken him a few times there too, it's so nice! I just love the summer and being outside in the sun and water.
We've Moved!
This post may be a bit long but stay with me! We are now living in a snazzy THREE bedroom apartment, still with Village Park, and we are so much happier here. There is so much more room and Jordan and I both are feeling the lightheartedness of being able to breathe again in our own home. Originally we weren't supposed to move until the end of July, but we had some special circumstances that allowed us out of our lease early...thank goodness!
It all started just one short month ago when a new neighbor moved in upstairs....with four kids...all under the age of seven. We knew as they were moving in, it wasn't gonna be fun because they were SO loud. Her kids would get running and jumping so hard, things started falling off my walls! I finally got frustrated after about a week and complained to the office, so they gave her a notice for the noise. It only got worse from there. My neighbor and friend, Marcy, noticed that she would leave her kids alone for long periods of time with no sitter, and she called the police a few times as well as DCFS. I had to call the police once for noise, after a second weekend in a row of her vacuuming at midnight while we were trying to sleep.
At that point things started to get a little hostile, I think she thought I was responsible for the police calls on her kids too and the next thing I know she's taking pictures of me and Tobi and our cars! What the heck right? So Jordan got upset and filed another police report, they didn't send a cop out that time, we just filed a report with them for what she was doing. Then a few days later, she started harassing me from her balcony. EVERY time I left the apartment or came home, she would run out onto her balcony (she seriously watched for me) and would glare at me and cuss me out in Spanish. I was so upset. Jordan called the police....again...and they sent an officer out...again. She was told to leave me alone and to stop coming out on her balcony when I was outside. At the same time, Jordan called the office, for the millionth time, and told them things were escalating and that we no longer felt safe in our apartment living beneath her. He asked if there was any way we could switch to a three bedroom apartment early. They said they'd check and see what they had available and we were moving out three days later.
And the horrible neighbor upstairs...totally still took pictures of me while we moved! She was seriously crazy and we are so happy to not be living under her anymore. Tobi LOVES the new apartment and has been totally wired for the last three days. We've also got his room set up a bit better and he's been so awesome about playing in his room with his toys, and he doesn't bug me constantly about watching Curious George...it's great! And on top that, we now feel so much more comfortable here that we're not embarrassed to invite people over. Such a nice feeling! The only thing is that Grayson's room is packed right now with random boxes and stuff that we need to go through before he arrives in October. We can do it though, Jordan even took this weekend off to help me. He did amazing moving us out so quickly and we also have several people to which we owe HUGE thank you's for making themselves available at the last minute to help.

A great big huge thank you to these people! We love them so much and we are so grateful to be blessed with having them in our lives!

Noelle's First Birthday
We got to go to a birthday party last weekend and as usual, Tobi had a blast! We had pizza and cake, two of Tobi's favorite things ever. I got to do Noelle's birthday pictures that morning, which was a lot of fun and good practice for me. It was a cute little party and I'm glad that Marcy and Ryan invited us.

Orem Summerfest
We had the most wonderful day yesterday! We found out that it was Orem Summerfest this weekend and the carnival was in town. Tobi and I got together with Adam and Shannon and we took the boys out for some fun. With Jordan working weekends, I try really hard to make sure Tobi still gets to do fun stuff like this....even though sometimes it's exhausting doing it by myself ha ha.
We started out yesterday morning at Macey's, they were having a special kids carnival and it was FREE, we love free! They had a live band playing which was way fun, and Tobi insisted that he stand in front of the band and dance, it was too funny. We had eggs, bacon and spiderman cereal for breakfast and then we got to watch Spiderman zipline down from the top of the building which the kids went nuts over. They even had a bouncy slide which the boys LOVED. They got icecream and then we headed home to get ready for the carnival.
We met up at Adam and Shannon's house and Chace was there saying hi, he ended up giving us a nice little chunk of money for the carnival and told us to have fun....so awesome! He has such a big heart and when it comes to Tobi and Kayson...Uncle Chace sure knows how to spoil. So at that point we had plenty enough to do the carnival in high style! We did lots of rides, some Tobi loved, some not so much....
We had yummy carnival food, played some fun carnival games (Tobi and Kayson LOVED the fishing pole one and it was a guaranteed win). The boys got their faces painted, which was SOOO cute and they were so proud, and then the icecream truck came by and they got some yummy icecream. We had so much fun and we were so glad we got to go. We stayed at Adam and Shannon's place to watch the fireworks at ten, but both the boys were so tuckered out they didn't make it, they were sound asleep by the time nine o'clock hit. Oh well, all in all it was still an AWESOME day.

My Tobi these days...
We had another KOTM visit yesterday and Tobi is doing great! Ever since we got him in his high tops he's been walking much better and much more confidently. We're also doing a lot better with his tantrums. It's such a relief to see him mellowing. We're still strengthening his torso so that eventually, he won't rely on his high tops for better walking and running, in the meantime they just help quite a bit. I've noticed lately that he's really into spicy and sour foods/candies and Kimber told us that kids that have problems with stimulation like Tobi, love spicy and sour stuff because it gets a stronger reaction out of their mouth and they like that extra stimulation.
Aside from KOTM and his goals, he is such an AMAZING little boy. His communication gets better and better every day and I love talking with him. He says the funniest things and he's so curious and eager to learn. He still LOVES cake and asks for it often. His favorite color right now is pink and his favorite number is five. He loves to play outside, especially in the water and he loves to color. He is totally fascinated by other kids and is so eager to introduce himself and play. He's a total social little butterfly, and will stop and chat with anyone (and I mean ANYONE) who will listen. He loves to call and talk to people on the phone and he loves going outside with me to potty Jessa, he even yells at her to hurry ha ha. Some days he likes to tell me that he has a baby brother in his tummy and I have to remind him that Grayson is in my belly and then he likes to lift up my shirt and pat my stomach, it makes me laugh every time. He's such a wonderful little boy and I am so happy to be his mom and even happier that I get to spend so much time with him again now that I'm not working.

Ashtyn's FIRST Birthday
Today we got to celebrate Ashtyn's (my cousin Amber's little girl) first birthday and we had so much fun! We went to her party at the highland splash pad, we've never been there before and Tobi loved it. And of course he was super excited and thoroughly enjoyed the birthday cake, he's been asking for it all week! Ashtyn was SO cute opening her presents and digging into her cake, she's such a wonderful little girl and I am so happy that we get to be in her life. We just love her to pieces and I really enjoy doing her pictures. Here are some photos from our super fun day!
