Hello April

I'm so excited for April this year! I have lots of fun Easter plans for us to do with Tobi that I'm totally stoked about, we get to go up to Logan to visit Tyler, Kelly and Rachel. And BEST of all, we get to meet our new little nephew Ben (hopefully on the 19th--woot!)!!! I think it's going to be a great month.

Prairie Point Lessons

I've been wanting to learn how to do prairie points on blankets with the really cute quilting lines and Jocelyn taught me how! It was actually really easy and I feel a little silly for not figuring it out on my own. She and I both ironed the points together which cut down on the time quite a bit, so nice! The blanket turned out ADORABLE and I can't wait to make some as gifts. I love doing blankets, Tobi doesn't really care which is kind of a bummer, but I'm hoping someday he will love to snuggle them. He's kind of funny, he doesn't like blankets covering his legs. He doesn't mind holding them in his hands when he's tired, but they can't be on his legs or he freaks out.
In the meantime, I just keep making them because they are so fun, and lucky for me I have THREE babies coming this summer.
WOOHOO!

My new look

Here is my new blog look. Now that St. Patty's is over, we are starting our countdown to Easter! We had a great St. Patty's day and now I've got my plans for Easter under way. I'm so excited to decide which traditions we want to keep and which ones we want to start, with the help of my fantastic Jordan of course! Now that we have our own little family started here, it's made the holiday's so much more exciting.

Here's to Easter!

Sneaky little bug

This sneaky little guy thought he'd help himself to some fruit snacks this morning, it would have worked if he knew how to open the package ha ha.

Happy Green Day!

We had so much fun today celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Tobi and I got up and got dressed in our green so we wouldn't get pinched (unfortunately I was slow and Jordan caught me without my green) and I got right to work on cookies and lunch. I couldn't find shamrock cookie cutters so we had to settle for animal kingdom cookies....but they still had green frosting! For lunch we had green chicken pillows and steamed broccoli. Tobi hadn't had chicken pillows before and he loved them! He's such a good little eater. We even had green fruit punch to drink. We invited Shannon and Kayson to join us too, so it was a pretty fun packed day. We even made it to Grandma Nedra's house for a visit and got to play with Auntie Marlei. Lucky for me, Tobi was TUCKERED out by the time we finished dinner and he was more than ready to head off to bed.

Hope everyone else had fun today too!!

Dinner with Grandpa

We invited Robert over for dinner last night and Tobi loved it. We don't see Robert often enough and we know he likes spending time with the Tobster. While Jordan and I prepared dinner, Robert took Tobi out for a ride in his favorite Lowe's car (he seriously sits in it and honks the horn all the time) and Tobi was all grins and giggles. Later, after our yummy BBQ chicken dinner, we watched Knight and Day and Tobi snuggled with Grandpa before going to bed.

Thanks for coming over Grandpa!

Days with Brynn

The last couple of weeks I've been spending some time with my sister-in-law Brynn and her kids. She is almost to the end of her third pregnancy and has been put on bed rest, so we've been helping out as best as we can. Last week we watched Megamind with the kids and just kind of hung out and today we took the kids down the street to the park. The weather has been so nice lately and I think we were all dying to be outside for a bit. Tobi likes to swing so he spent most of his time in the little baby swing they had. Noah even took a turn pushing him, it was so sweet! After a little bit, several other kids were drawn to the park and Noah and Ellie had quite the group to play with. It was really nice to just relax and let the kids play. Tobi sat by us and munched on pretzels (his favorite snack lately). All in all, it was a really nice day and I'm excited to go back out next week.

Maasen's Color Guard Competition

This last weekend we got to go to my cousin's color guard competition in American Fork. I've never been to one before and I was really excited to go and watch her perform. I know she really enjoys it and her family is so supportive. My good friends Jocelyn and Steve came with me, and of course I had Tobi with me as well. We didn't stay super long because Tobi was getting antsy, but we did get to see her team perform and it was so cool. Later we found out that they took FIRST place! WOOHOO!

Good job Maasen (and team), way to go!

Weekend BBQ's

Ah...the weather is finally warming and I can smell spring waiting just around the corner, which means soon after that we will be knee-deep in summer...woohoo! What better way to celebrate the warming weather than to go to a family BBQ! Sean and Brynn hosted a fabulous family BBQ on Saturday night and we had so much fun. Poor Jordan had to work and only had time to say hello, eat and then say goodbye. I can't wait for the day when he is able to get a better schedule. Tobi and I were able to go up earlier in the day to help with some quilting projects and the little guy REFUSED to nap. Kelly finally got him to sleep for about thirty minutes which was better than nothing and I was so grateful. He has a really hard time sleeping when he's not at home. Other than dealing with cranky Tobi, the day went pretty good and it was nice to spend time with Jordan's family. We haven't seen them in a little while. It makes me excited for the summer to hit and all the many more BBQ's we are sure to have.

Fun at the Park

Ever since I got my camera I've been so excited for the weather to warm up so we could take the boys to the park and do pictures. The weather wasn't super warm yesterday, but it was warm enough and sunny enough for us to go. Shannon and I packed up the boys and put them in their cute little matching jackets and drove to my favorite park behind the Walmart (there aren't a lot of parks with baby swings and this one has a pond!). We bribed the boys with M&M's to keep them happy during pictures and then they got to swing for a while and they both LOVED the swings. They were all grins and totally tuckered out by the time we got home. I'm excited to be able to take him during the summer and let him go down slides and climb to his hearts content. Here are some of my favorite pictures we took of the boys.

Digiscrappin' lessons

My cousin Amber recently decided it would be fun to learn how to do digital scrap booking and I was more than happy to show her the ropes and pass on all my cute kits. I spent the day at her place yesterday going over the basics for Paint Shop Pro. Lucky for me, Jordan was home and he kept Tobi for the day. We got to relax, visit, and focus on her newest hobby....so nice! Here is what I worked on while I was there.

Blog lift

I love March. My favorite color is green and St. Patty's day is so fun. I'm making an effort this year to be excited about all these fun holidays and keeping my blog festive according to the month. We'll see if I can remember to keep up on it! Anyway, last month being Valentines month and all, I highlighted Jordan and me in my blog header. March being the month of luck (we hope!) I thought I'd put Tobi back up since Jordan and I are so lucky to have him in our lives. I'll have to work on getting more pictures of the three of us together. It's difficult since I'm usually the one behind the camera. Anyway, enjoy my new blog look!

March Desktop

Wow, this year is already plugging away isn't it? I can't believe it's March already! I'm excited for St. Patty's day, I'm determined to make it fun for Tobi even though he doesn't understand yet. I really feel like I've kicked off 2011 really great and I'd like to keep that going. I love this month's desktop and I love the picture of Tobi even more, he's such a little ham!
