My Jordan

I've sent in my 2009 blog book and am currently working on 2010 and do you know what I've realized?

First, I blog about Tobi a LOT.
Second, I would not have Tobi were it not for my fabulous husband Jordan.

So I would like to share a bit about my Jordan. Last year was a tough one for us. We don't really like the same music, and we don't really like the same movies. Jordan is a gamer, and I'm....well, I'm a busy body I guess. I do love my shows though. Starting out 2011, Jordan and I both decided we should make more of an effort to find things we can share with each other. There are a few games that I enjoy, and I've learned that it is so much more fun playing them with Jordan. Being the fantastic gamer that he is, we can always get through all the hard levels that I normally wouldn't even try by myself. He is so patient with me, especially considering how many times I've made him die, or screwed up his jumps, or gamed us over with some crazy move that never would have worked and we both know it. We've also started watching more shows together too. Last year we watched the first season of The Walking Dead together and we LOVED it. We couldn't wait to see the next episode every time a new one came on. Well, I think it sparked a fire because now we watch V, Winter Wipeout, Arrested Development, and several other shows together.
We've also decided to be chubby buddies (finally!) and we have been going to the gym together everyday on Jordan's days off. At first it was hard and we missed a couple days, but now we look forward to it every morning. Tobi LOVES running the indoor track with us and gets several grins and giggles from fellow runners by squealing as we run by. We've also started doing the grocery list together so that we can help each other to eat healthier and watch our portion sizes. Obviously doing all these things together has really brought us closer. We have a lot more patience with each other and our communication has been a lot better. I'm very excited that this year will be number four for us and I'm so happy to have started the year off so well.

Craft time!

I'm not sure if any of you know this, but I've been obsessed with projects lately! This week we decided to work on some wreaths for Valentines day. I hunted EVERYWHERE for some stinkin' heart shaped wreaths and nobody had them, so I had to compromise by going with the classic circle wreath. I love how it turned out, it would be even better if it were heart shaped, but I'm pretty happy with it the way it is....and it looks ADORABLE on my door!

Secret....I've never actually hung a wreath on my door before. I find myself wanting to leave just so I can come back and see it hanging there, radiating all it's cuteness.

Anyway, I have a few other little things I'm working on and I'm sure those posts are soon to follow.
Stay tuned!

Mr. Moody

Ugh...this week has been rough on me. Tobi is so ornery and difficult right now. Feeding him has become a huge challenge this week, I don't know if he's bored with the food we have or if he doesn't like it. He'll take a few bites and then refuses to eat any more. I worry that he's not eating enough. Even foods that he normally chows on, he won't really eat. And then changing his diaper....holy cow! He throws the biggest fit when I lay him down to change him and there is NO distracting him. It doesn't bug me until he has a poopy diaper and then I really need him to hold still so he doesn't get poop everywhere. So I try to pin him down to change him and when I let go, he gets mad and kicks and hits me. Here is my dilemma...we've been scolding him and telling him "no" for months and he still just doesn't care. He's only fifteen months old and I'm not really sure how to discipline him. I'm sure he's just hitting that stage when they realize they can act out and throw fits and such, I just don't really know how to handle it.

My surprise

Jordan had to run out the other day for a couple errands and when he got home, he surprised me with these! Aren't they pretty? I was so excited, he never does that and it made me so happy.

Thank you Jordan, I love you!

Adventures in babysitting

I had Kayson yesterday for about nine hours and at first I was really nervous because I've never had both the boys for that long, but it went so good! They played really well together and then they both went down for naps at the same time. So nice! Tobi only slept for about a half hour (he doesn't take good naps in the evening) but Kayson slept for a good hour before waking up. I put them both in their high chairs and they shared some mac and cheese for dinner. What a mess!
As soon as they were done, Jordan and I stripped them both and threw their cheesy cheeks in the tub. They played for a bit longer, we baked some cookies, and then put them both to bed.
Whew!

Our weekend at the Planetarium

Lucky us! We got to go to the planetarium on Saturday with Jordan's family. Jordan was able to get the day off and we went up first thing in the morning. I'd never been before and it was pretty cool. Planets aren't really my thing but Jordan and Tobi liked it. We didn't get to watch one of their movies because we didn't have a lot of time, but we looked at some pretty neat stuff. Uncle Jayson got a telescope (he says it's awesome with the ladies and we wish him luck!) and we got our pictures taken on the moon, and on mars! Rachel is walking now and it's so crazy to watch! Tobi is getting there, not too much longer now. We got Tobi a really cool glow toy from the gift shop and then went to the food court in the mall for lunch. Tobi ate Uncle Tyler's chow mein and then later we met up at T & K's hotel for a swim. I wasn't feeling too well but decided to swim anyway, and Tobi had a lot of fun playing in the water until a bunch of hooligans showed up and started splashing everywhere. After that we got out and just visited with the fam for the rest of the night. It was a lot of fun!

My little busy body

Tobi is getting so big, and learning so much. It's bittersweet to watch him grow. I'm so proud of him and yet, I miss my baby. Looking at his baby pictures is getting harder and harder. Alright, enough blubbering! Lately Tobi likes to pull his movies off the shelf and look at them. He does the same thing with his books in his bedroom. He'll wander back there and get real quiet, when I go to peek on him, he's always sitting quietly on the floor flipping through his books. He LOVES his books.

Christmas morning 2010

We had such a great Christmas this year and Tobi was a HUGE part of it. Watching him enjoy the day and open up his gifts was such a joy. He is my little angel and I love him so much. He played with all his toys and got so excited when we arrived at Grandma and Grandpa's house. He got the coolest wheelie ramp for his wheelies and he LOVED it. He was playing with it before Grandma was even finished putting it together. Then Uncle Chace gave him his very own set of wheels....a step two Lowe's car. It's a little too cold to push him in it now but we take him for little rides inside and he loves it. He kicks back and totally doesn't mind that we're doing all the work, and occasionally he'll lean forward and honk his little horn. We had so much fun and I'm so happy that Tobi enjoyed the holiday. Can't wait for the next Christmas!

My January Desktop!

Here is the January desktop, I like it a lot better than last month's. Pink is so not a Christmas color.
