The headband fever!

Ah sweet sanity...

Today Brynn and the kiddos came to visit us and hang out. I've been bored out of my mind all week with Tobi being sick, we've basically been quarantined. I'm used to going to Brynn's house two-three times a week and this week I was going insane. I watched the kids while she went on our "coke-run" and came back with my pepsi and starbursts. We had a yummy lunch and then it was craft time! We've been doing a lot of fun projects lately to help us feel like we have purpose (or something like that) and this week it was........HEADBANDS!
And let me tell you, we made the cutest stinkin' headbands. We had quite the assortment of fabric, buttons and string and we went to town. We both now have several super cute headbands that we can wear and I LOVE them. The kids were way good and Tobi was happy to see Noah and Ellie, he loves those two kids.
I've been a little busy the rest of the day with Tobi and all, but I definitely have the headband fever and I can't wait to make some more. So much creativity and a lot of fun. I couldn't wait for Jordan to come home so I could show off my talent! I modeled them and he said I looked FANTASTIC!
Wahoo!
I can't wait for next week's project, we still have to finish Tobi's carseat canopy which is going to be adorable! Here are some pics from my super fun visit....

And sweet Noah and Tobi, so cute!

Sassy Seat Door Jumper

Lol, okay...I know this picture is a little deceiving, but he was having fun I promise!
We got a super cool new toy today!
Tobi has been having so much fun kickin' his legs lately, we thought we'd try him in a jumper. So when Jordan got off work today, he stopped at Babies R Us to pick one up (I had a coupon). Grandpa was so kind as to help us set it up, I didn't notice until we got it out of the box that the door had no trim, and fixed the door so we could hang it. He sat and bounced in it for about ten minutes or so and then remembered that he was being ornery and we had to take him out. I'm really excited about this toy, I think he'll do really great with it. He's such a mover and he LOVES bouncing on my lap.

On an extra note, for those of you who are following....Tobi is feeling a lot better and his cough doesn't sound nearly as bad as it did two days ago. I'm not as worried and I'm pretty sure he will be well again by Monday!
Yay!

Sneezes and coughs...

My poor little guy woke up sick yesterday morning and it's been a little rough. He has a cough and a little bit of sniffles. You can tell he's congested when you listen to him breath and his throat sounds really "flemmy". Yesterday he was quite the trooper and he would let out big sighs after a coughing fit...today however, he gets upset and cries. We took him to the doctor this morning and it turns out he has RSV.
Wow!
A little overwhelming and talk about no warning! I can't believe how fast this came on. The doctor did tell us that he's doing really good. His breathing is good and he isn't at a point yet where he needs medicine. They told us to run the shower and stand with him in the steam, run his humidifier at night, and put saline drops in his nose about every hour (all of which we were already doing--yay!). As long as he's breathing good and he has no fever, we don't need to worry.
Except that I am worried anyway. It's just so hard to hear him cough, poor little guy. I'm just grateful that we caught it fast enough and were smart enough to do the right things from the start. You want to know that you're a good parent and this weekend....we did great! I called Sean and he gave us great advice (so glad we have him in the family!!) and was so patient with me, being the crazy worried mom that I am. Hopefully, by the end of this week my baby Tobi will be good as new!

I changed my blog!

I thought that with spring right around the corner my blog was due for a facelift. What do we think? I kept the header simple this time but I really like it. I think it's a great way for me to get into the spring spirit and look forward to some warmer weather (we hope!).

My goofy little guy...

He gets the funniest looks on his face!
Jessa totally snuggled up to him today, suffering through him pulling fistfulls of her hair! He loved it!

I think he's starting to recognize the camera or something, because I get this look a lot ha ha.

He was smiling through his binkie, I love it when he does that.

And this was right before his bath tonight....SO CUTE!!!!!

Happy Birthday Tyler

Yesterday Tobi and I spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa Bourne's with Kelly and Rachel while the guys (and Marlei and Tasha) went shooting for Tyler's birthday. Kelly was learning how to knit, and doing a good job at it, and I was putting a calendar of Rachel together for Kelly's valentine. Tobi did great and napped super good, not to mention he got attention from EVERYBODY which was super nice for me. When the gang got back from their shooting expedition we had a really yummy lunch. Tyler and Kelly brought cheese down from the factory in Logan and we had some delicious sandwiches along with Grandma Bourne's homemade chicken noodle soup.
YUM!
It was really nice visiting with everybody and even though I was nervous, the visit went really well and everyone was really nice. We haven't seen this part of the family in a while and it was kind of nice having a peek at the way things used to be. At the same time though, things are still different and we're coping with it the best we can. Anyway....
Happy Birthday Tyler!
We love you!

Free time!

Tobi took a THREE hour nap today (so nice and rarely happens) and this is what I did while he was asleep. It was so nice to take my time for once and sit and relax. I think this is one of my favorite pages that I've done so far. He's such a cute baby and I LOVE scrappin' pictures of him.

My little sneaker

As I was getting ready for bed tonight, I could hear a rustling noise coming from the hall just outside our door. I got nervous because with four dogs in our house, a noise like that equals mischief. So I peak out the door and this is what I find.....

(this is the cat food bag if you can't tell)
......forty minutes later, I was STILL laughing!

Baby blues

So so cute :)

The Onyx Ninja

Jordan got his zune this week and he is SO happy with it. This particular toy was very overdue for him so I am glad we were finally able to get it ordered for him. Here's my sweetie with his latest gadget!

Best Valentine's Day Party EVER!

A couple of weeks ago, Brynn and I decided to plan a Valentine's Day party, and today was our big day! We had a super yummy appetizer feast and...a fondue fountain! My parents got to come too, they were very excited to be invited, and Chace stopped by when he got off work. Brynn and I had a blast playing Just Dance on the wii and the guys rocked out with Rock Band too. Tobi did really good and got to visit with his Grandpa Leavitt. We gave all our Valentines to everybody and Tobi got super cute book from Sean, Brynn and the kiddos. Then he also got a really cute crab rattle from Grandpa L. From Grandma and Grandpa O. he got a really neat teething blanket with different textures on it for him to enjoy. Ellie had fun entertaining him, and herself, with his new alligator toy that Brynn gave him last week. He's starting to hold onto things a lot more and it's been so fun finding new things for him to hold. It turned out to be a really great party and we can't wait to do another just like it.

Here are some fun photos of our totally fun day:

Kindred Spirit

I have spent a lot of time with my fabulous sister-in-law, Brynn, this last year and I have to say that she is, without a doubt, my kindred spirit. I grew up with two brothers and have never known what it is like to have a sister....until now. I can tell Brynn anything without fear of judgement, jealousy, or bitterness. I can confide in her, look up to her, be crazy with her....our brains are truly on the same wavelength. In getting to know her this last year, I also feel like I've found myself. Especially now that I am a mom. She is the one person (besides my fabulous husband) that I have nothing to fear from. I am allowed to be myself and I am accepted for who I am. I trust her completely and I feel so blessed to have her as an in-law. She has taught me how to be strong and has given me the opportunity to nurture my creativity through her support and endless patience. She taught me how to digital scrapbook, which I love. She's teaching me how to sew again and she's keeping me involved in things other than myself. I love the party planning and the game nights, the Lost premier parties and egg roll nights. I love the coke-runs and our goofy Target obsession. I love being motivated to take more pictures of my family because she has so many wonderful pictures of her own beautiful family. I love Noah and Ellie and their endless antics and I'm so glad that they adore their new cousin Tobi.

She is my sister-in-law, she is my friend, but more than that...she is my SISTER.

It IS possible

This week, on one of our many visits to Brynn's house, we finally decided to see if we could fit all three kids in the back of my car. We were pretty sure it was do-able, we just wanted to see it for ourselves. So we took the car seats out of Brynn's car and loaded them in mine, followed by ALL three kids. And would you believe it....they all fit! We were so excited, now that we know they all fit it will be nice to be able to take one car when we go places (like our favorites Target and Costco). So many more adventures are sure to follow after this point!

Woohoo!

Last night...Tobi slept all the way through for the first time. It wasn't this big momentous experience like I thought it would be, not out of body or anything like that, but it was exciting. This past week, since starting my "ignore and go back to sleep" technique, he's been getting up only once in the night usually around 5:00 or 6:00am. Even that was nice. Jordan and I went to Red Lobster last night for our Valentine date and I was telling him that I was afraid Tobi would never sleep all the way through as long as people had to leave for work around 5:00 or 6:00am. The floor is so noisy when people are walking around upstairs, I knew that was waking him up. Well, this morning Jordan was SO quiet when he left I barely even heard him. I rolled around in bed a couple hours, anxious, waiting for Tobi to get up. Finally I decided he would wake up when he wakes up...no sense in being anxious about it so I went back to sleep. I woke up a quarter after nine and he was still asleep! So cool!

So I think I can take this as a sign that big changes are coming!

Three months old!!!

Baby T is now three months old....crazy! He gets more and more fun every day and I am so grateful that I have been given the opportunity to be a stay at home mom so that I can watch him grow. I can't believe it's been three months already. He's eating good and still on his way to sleeping well...not quite where I want him in that department but we're doing good. His hair is still crazy and it's actually turning red. His eyelashes are getting very long and they too are red. He's getting better about letting me clip his nails and we're starting to take him out of the house a little more often. Now that he's hit his three month mark there are a lot of clothes I've had to put away because they don't fit anymore....so sad! I look at his cute little outfits and I'm happy to be storing them away because it means he's growing, but I'm so sad at the same time because he's not my tiny little newborn anymore. He's already wearing six month clothing (a little big), depending on the brands some of the three month stuff is too small. I hate it when stores don't carry sizes in 3-6 months. It's either three month or six month and right now he's kind of in the middle. I'm okay with that though, he'll be fitting into the six month clothes a lot better soon enough. It just makes me really excited to see what the next month will bring.
