Welcome May!

Here is the May desktop....love it love it love it!

When he sleeps

One of my favorite things to do is to peek in on Tobi while he's sleeping. He's so peaceful when he sleeps and I often wonder if he's dreaming, and what images are floating through his little mind. Does he dream of me? Of Jordan?

Lately when he sleeps, he has to have his deedee over his face. The first time I noticed it over his face I went into his room and very quietly, took it off. I didn't want him to suffocate or wake up scared because he couldn't see (sometimes he does that). Right after I pulled it off, he turned his head the other way, and pulled it right back over his face. Since then I haven't worried too much about it. He HAS to have his deedee now to go to sleep. It's his comfort item and I'm just glad it's small. We give it to him when we lay him down and he rubs it back and forth over his face and closes his eyes, like he's so relaxed. Usually within minutes he's out like a light. When he wakes up, he'll lay quietly and play with his deedee in his crib, then I'll walk in and act all surprised that he's awake and he gives me his cute little bashful grin that he does.

He's such a sweet little boy and I couldn't imagine my life without him.

I know I'm crazy...trust me

Okay okay....let me just say that I think I may suffer from a mild case of OCD and my bloglift just wasn't sitting with me right. It looked more like a scrapbook page than a blog header and as cute as it was...I wasn't lovin' it. I put a lot of time into my blog and when I open it up I like to go....

...aaaaaaw, so cute.

Therapy update...

We had our third physical therapy appointment today and Tobi has been bumped to two week appointments now (which is good)! So he will most likely AVOID having to be a little helmet head.

Yay!

I can't even begin to express how relieved I am. The therapist was VERY impressed at Tobi's improvement over that last few weeks and I am so proud of my Baby T. The therapist LOVES him and is always telling me how cute he is and how I should enter him in a baby contest (which I might do just to say that I did ha ha). Tobi is such a trooper and we can already see the improvement to his flat spot.

Pretty good day.

PS...can someone tell mother nature that it is SPRING already!

Ellie's Strawberry Shortcake Party

We got to go to Ellie's 3rd birthday party yesterday and it was so fun!
We got there a little late (sorry Brynn!) and the kids were coloring their princess crowns and enjoying some super cool ring pops. You could tell that Ellie was so excited about her big day. We played some really cute games, had a really yummy lunch, opened gifts, and did the Happy Birthday cake. Ellie made out like a bandit and got lots of super cool gifts. I'm so happy for her to be turning another year older, it's so exciting, and I'm so grateful that she let us share the day with her. She's such a fun, cute little girl.
Happy Birthday Ellie Belle!
We love you!

Just being silly

We were changing his clothes, obviously, and they got stuck on his big head! I was laughing so hard I had to take a picture. He thought it was pretty funny too.

Physical Therapy

Tobi has now gone through almost three weeks of PT appointments for his poor little flat head. The little turkey LOVES his left side and we've been working with him to loosen/tighten certain muscles and get rid of that pesky little flat spot. The physical therapist, Ben, is really cool and it's obvious that working with children is his calling. He showed me some techniques for helping Tobi learn to roll over better, and within a day he had improved a TON! It's crazy! We have four different stretches right now that we do three times a day and we've also been working on his tummy time. He's doing really good, he doesn't like doing his stretches....more because he doesn't like being forced than it being uncomfortable. I should find out at the next appointment if he's improved enough to avoid a helmet.

Keep you fingers crossed for me!

Bloglift!

I thought since Easter is over, I'd better change my blog. Plus...I love changing my blog. I thought I would go with a little boy theme this time because Tobi has been much on my mind lately. The poor guy has been quite the trooper since starting physical therapy for his head last week. He is suffering through his stretches with only minor complaints and doesn't seem to be too phased by my craziness these last few days. As many of you know, and for those who don't, we have moved. We are no longer renting from my parents which makes me both happy and sad, as Tobi and I will miss them. As a result of moving, Tobi's routine has been off and we're all a bit testy. Hopefully we can get our groove back soon. I love my baby boy so much, hang in there buddy.

Our first walk

We went on our first walk today!
The weather has been so nice the last couple of days, we couldn't resist breaking out the jogger and taking a trip down to the Mav. Tobi's stroller actually needed air in the tires so we thought it would be nice to walk down to the Maverik and back.
And even better, Grandma and Grandpa decided to come too!
We got Tobi nice and bundled (it's warm but still a little cool for a baby) and we all really enjoyed our walk. We FINALLY got air in the stroller tires and it's a lot easier to push now ha ha.
I had so much fun, as long as the weather stays good, I'd like to take walks with him everyday.

Five Months!!!

I know this post is a little late and I'm sorry, but here we go....
First of all, how cute is he?!
This kid is the joy of my life. I feel like these last two weeks especially have gone so good and each day really gets easier and easier. We've finally found our groove as far as naps go. He's taking two really good (two to three hour) naps every day and he's sleeping about twelve hours through the night. Plus, knock on wood, the last couple of nights he's slept completely through (usually he gets up once around five or six for a bottle) and we're hoping that this pattern will continue. Uninterrupted sleep is something we no longer take for granted around here.
Lets see...what other changes have occurred since graduating from month four?
We are eating solid foods, as posted a few days ago. We've had carrots and green beans so far, neither seems to be a favorite but he doesn't hate them. He really likes to "pet" our faces. Especially when he's laid back, drinking his bottle, he'll reach up and gently stroke your face and just stare. I love it, it's so cute.
He is rolling from his back to his stomach to his back without help. He is laughing more regularly and what's really amusing are the things he finds funny....so random!
He watches cartoons really well, which probably isn't the best thing but it's really nice for me to get a few things done while he sits during quiet time. We're starting to practice sitting up, hopefully when he hits six months he can do so unassisted. He's starting to like the camera and I've been able to get a lot more smiley-happy pictures. What else?.....He LOVES to exercise his little voice. He spends a good deal of his time yelling. I've been calling him my little velociraptor because that's what it makes me think of. He does a lot better now when we have to go out running errands, I'm not so anxious anymore.
And he is SO happy, all the time...he really is the best baby and I'm so happy to have him.
Here's looking forward to month six!

Captain Picard

Easter festivities!

We had quite the busy weekend for Easter this year, not to mention it was Tobi's FIRST! Grandma and Grandpa Olson were so excited, they let me pick out a brand new walker for Tobi's Easter gift...so cool! We got a really cool walker that Tobi LoVeS! He's still not quite tall enough for it though and his little feet dangle just above the floor, but he'll grow into it soon enough. Jordan's mom also sent him a cute little glow worm which he thinks is pretty cool, it was really thoughtful of her to do that. We spent Saturday night at Sean and Brynn's coloring eggs and visiting with Jordan's family, and then on Sunday I prepared a delicious Easter feast for my own family. We had everyone over, including Jordan's dad, and got to visit as a family. Tobi got to play with everybody and was SO hyper while we were at Sean and Brynn's. He didn't want to take his nap and I finally had to buckle him into his car seat because he kept shimmying out of it, the little stinker. It was a pretty good Easter this year and I'm excited to take Tobi next year for the egg hunts that the kids get to do...so fun!

Hello solids

We had our first spoon feeding this week and it went pretty well. He didn't like the first couple of bites because he didn't understand what we were doing but as soon as he realized we were feeding him...he was good to go! We started with cereal at night and carrots in the afternoon, but since the cereal has to be fairly thin we've switched to carrots in the afternoon and a thicker cereal bottle at night until he gets better at eating from a spoon. He does pretty well with the carrots. His reaction was more of an "eh...I guess this is alright" which was disappointing for me, I totally thought he'd go nuts. We get to try green beans tomorrow so we'll see if he likes those any better. We've decided to have him try all the veggies first and then do the fruits. We don't want him to decide he likes fruits only ha ha.
We've also started giving him the graduates puffs in the strawberry apple flavor and he seems to like those. It makes me wonder what he'll be eating a month from now when he hits six months. It's going to be fun trying all these new foods!

Our latest fascination...

Tobi has discovered the human tongue this last week and he loves it when we stick our tongues at him. He tries so hard to copy us and hasn't quite figured it out yet, but it's so cute to watch him try. He's such a silly little boy and I feel so blessed to have such a happy baby. He grins ALL the time and he's so happy. It makes me so excited for his personality to really bloom.

Tummy time!

We have been working on tummy time a lot lately with Baby T and he's doing so good! He's funny because when he gets on his tummy he sits and squeals and grins like he thinks it's hilarious that he's on his tummy. He gets so excited! He's rolling pretty good on his own now and we are so proud of him. I'm glad he's enjoying the tummy time.
