Sweet discovery!

My adorable little boy has discovered the mobile on his crib! He's so cute. The other day I had to warm up a bottle and when he's hungry there is no distracting him with anything....except his mobile. I laid him in his crib so that he was right underneath it and wound it up for him and he totally loved it! I was able to fix his bottle in silence for the first time....kind of weird really. He sat and stared and then got all excited, swinging his arms and legs, grinning like crazy. He's been sleeping in his crib for about a month now and he does really well. The first night we moved him I felt like I was missing a limb! My ears were focused like crazy on our monitor and every little noise had me jumping. I'm pretty sure it was a much bigger step for me than it was for him. Now I just need to get him to nap in his crib during the day and we're good. Naps are still a little.......lets just say inconsistent. He's starting to be more grabby with his hands too....not too much longer and he'll be playing with toys!!! I'm so excited!

Oh dear....

.......well, he's not going to starve!

Well child

Tobi had his second well child appointment this week and it went really well. He loves to be naked so he didn't scream this time when I had to undress him. He weighed in at 13lbs and 2oz, with a length of 24 inches....so big! He got his shots, which made him cry but not nearly as bad as when he got his mouth checked (which took a total of two seconds to do). He was really fussy the rest of the day because his legs hurt but the next day he was pretty much fine. We rubbed some knots out of his little legs and after that he was good as new. He's eating really good and the nights are getting easier....I think. He's not sleeping through the night like I hoped he would. He still goes to bed around 10:00 and wakes up at 3:00 to eat, then from that point on he sleeps in 1-2 hour increments.......ouch I know. He's had a couple nights when he's gone back to sleep for another four hours or so, but it's not something he does consistently unfortunately. We'll get there.

February desktop has arrived....

Blessing Day

Tobi fell asleep on Jordan's belly right after, it was really cute.

My camera was being goofy, so I've got some fuz on a lot of my pics. :(

Our little boy has been blessed! We decided it would be more comfortable for us to have a private blessing at home, seeing as how we're not active members of the church and all, plus I didn't want to make a huge deal out of Tobi's blessing. It is for the baby, not everyone else. We had our immediate family come over to witness and Sean blessed him for us. It was a beautiful blessing and I'm so proud of my little Tobi for being so good. He got to see all his aunts and uncles and Grandpa L too. He was held by EVERYBODY and enjoyed himself to the point of exhaustion. He totally konked after everyone left....poor little guy.

Grandpa's little guy

I just want to start this post by saying how much I love my dad. He adores Tobi and I wanted to take this opportunity to do a little spotlight on Grandpa O. I'm pretty sure Tobi has him wrapped around his little finger. They've been doing what Grandpa calls, "walk-abouts", where they walk around the kitchen and living room together looking at EVERYTHING. Grandpa carries him just like in the picture above, and they make stops to look at anything and everything while Grandpa tells Tobi all about it. AND! Tobi LOVES it. You should see him while they do these walks, he's so content to sit and stare. And even funnier, Tobi will sit and pull the hairs on Grandpa's arms while they're walking. It makes me laugh so hard! I'm so glad that Tobi is loved and spoiled so much.

Thank you Grandpa O!

My first digital scrapbook page!

Here is my very first digital scrapbook page, done all on my own! What do we think? It took me a couple of hours to figure it out, but I think I have the hang of it now. I'm so excited, I want to do all of Tobi's pictures, and my maternity pictures, and my family pictures........this is going to be so fun!

No funny business....

Beautiful

My grandma and grandpa have left for Arizona where they like to spend their winters....jealous! Right before they left they sent a gift for Tobi home with my dad.

A blessing blanket!

I was surprised because my grandma already crocheted a blanket for him when he was born (which is also very nice and we love it) and I'm just sad that she won't be here to see him get blessed. I owe her a huge thank you and I'm so excited to use the blanket on Tobi's blessing day.

Thank you Grandma Coates!

Oops....

So I've had some recent complaints for skipping some important events in December. There were so many that by the time I got to my blog...I was too tired to blog about them all. So here we go with the most important ones.....

Andrew and Bronwyn got engaged!
We are so excited to have Bronwyn enter into our family circle. She is such a fun girl and so great with Andrew, we can all see how happy he is when he is with her. They've set the date for September 18th this year and we can't wait!!

Jordan turned 23...on the 23rd!
We had a nice little party for him at my parents house. We set up his new big screen in the living room and attached the PS3 and Wii so that he could play games. We had Sean, Brynn, Jayson and Allen over and had some pizza and super yummy salad and breadsticks that Sean and Brynn brought from Olive Garden. We did cake and icecream and everyone had a really good time. Happy Birthday honey!

Unfortunately, it turns out I'm an awful wife and I forgot to get a picture of the birthday guy. :(

We survived Christmas of 2009 Since pretty much everyone in my family was poor last year (we still are actually lol) we decided to draw names. I drew my dad's name and we got him a really cool theater style popcorn maker. Jordan drew Andrew's name and we got him an FYE gift card so that he could pick something that he really wanted. My dad got Jordan's name and he too got an FYE gift card (and used that to get some new games) and my mom drew my name. I got a really cool baby book for all of Tobi's "firsts" and a baby sling to carry him around and still have my hands free. I also got a really cool food chopper that we can't wait to use for some fresh salsa...yum! Even though we drew names, my mom and dad still went all out for Tobi. He got more gifts than anyone! He got more onesies, some toys, some little rubber spoons, a very cute musical giraffe, and all kinds of other things. I'm so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Olson love him so much, spoiled little guy!

We went to my Grandma Coates's house for an early dinner and gifts. She gave Tobi a super cute red onsie with a giraffe on it and matching blue pants. And she also gave him some really cute pajammies that say "I love dirt" on them. So cute! She always finds the cutest stuff for him. He sure loves his great Grandma Coates! She gave us a really nice blanket that's super soft, we put it on our recliner so we can get snuggly with Tobi and stay warm. She also gave us some yummy mint cocoa and some lotion from Bath and Body Works. We gave her and my grandpa some pictures of us and Tobi to add to her wall and they really liked them.

All in all, I'd say that everyone had a pretty good holiday. :)

A much needed outing

Tobi and I finally got to get out of the house this week and we chose to go to Auntie Brynn's! We had a super yummy lunch from Purple Turtle and Tobi slept for almost three hours when we got there....so nice! Brynn and I got talking again about her digital scrapbooking (I've been wanting to learn so badly) and she showed me again how she does it. This time I think it stuck! I've already spent almost two hours downloading scrapbook templates and I'm so excited to use them!!! Brynn even helped me do a page setup for my blog and showed me how to apply it. What do you think? I think I love it. :)

Thanks Brynn!

More fun pictures of my sweet little boy....

Happy 20th Chace!

Everyone just chillin' after dinner.
Me and my sexy husband!
Poor Tobi hadn't napped AT ALL that day and was SUPER fussy.
The birthday boy with his yummy birthday dessert.
Chace and Ricky inspecting the birthday goods. :)

Saturday was Chace's birthday and we were invited over to his new place for a party. My parents made homemade fried rice, so I added Sean and Brynn's egg rolls and then made a super yummy chocolate raspberry trifle for his birthday cake. He and Ricky had reserved the clubhouse at their complex and that's where we had dinner. We also watched a movie in their super cool movie room, complete with a massive theater screen and super comfy couches and chairs. He had a really good birthday and it was really nice having the whole family together to celebrate, now that we're growing in numbers it's getting harder and harder to get everyone together.

Happy Birthday Chace! We love you!

Two Months!!

How cute is he?
He makes me laugh so hard...he's so fun!
I call this the..."Jeez mom, have we taken enough pictures yet?"

He is so happy, I love it!

I really don't know why he looks so worried, his pictures always come out super cute.

My sweet baby boy is two months today! I can't believe it's been two whole months already. The time flies by SO fast. He is so much fun and I absolutely adore him. He's so sweet with his daddy and it's obvious he adores Jordan. And Jordan is SOOO good with him. He's such a fantastic dad and I'm so excited to see what the future will bring for us and our new little family. Tobi is sleeping so good at night and he is now getting up only twice in the night...that's right! Two months = two times in the night.....I love it.

Here's to hoping that by the time we hit three months, he's sleeping through the night. Auntie Brynn tried him in his crib today for the first time and he loved it. I'm not sure yet if it was the crib, or his fabulous Auntie Brynn...guess we'll know the second time around on the crib eh? He has his next well child appointment on the 21st of January so more updates will be coming!

Tobi talk

I was filming him yesterday because he was just being so cute and when I played back the recording, Tobi got all excited and coo'ed and kicked his legs. He kept doing it every time I played what I recorded and I realized he liked hearing himself on the camera! It was too funny, he's such a cute little boy.

Happy New Year!

We were invited to Sean and Brynn's house for New Year celebrations again this year. We love spending the New Year with them. Sean made a super yummy clam chowder and Brynn made a delicious chili...we ate way more than we should have! We met Steve and Kara and their super cute little girl, Kirstyn. I also got to meet Bula and Kelly. We left early because Tobi was a little fussy and we wanted to get him in bed on time. We got him into his penguin pajammies and he snuggled with Daddy for a bit before going to bed right on time at 10:30. He then slept for almost six hours, which was a first and a great way for us to bring in the New Year. We're hoping he'll be sleeping through the night here in another four weeks or so.
Welcome 2010!

One Exhausted Baby

I found these pictures on my camera today, I had totally forgot about them! This was about three or four weeks ago, he had a tummy ache and had just finished a huge crying meltdown and then fell asleep. His binkie fell out but was still pressed agaisnt his lips...it was so funny. Poor little guy.

A typical day...

Tobi and I are doing so great! Every day gets easier and more fun. He's such a happy baby and I feel so blessed. He goes to bed around 10:30 every night and sleeps until about 2:30-3:00am. We change his diaper, feed him and he goes right back to sleep. Then he's usually up again around 6:00am and then again around 8:00 or 9:00 and then he's awake for the day. He's getting to be much more aware and alert of everything around him. He likes to lay flat on our bed and he'll kick his legs and play. He sits and coo's and makes his cute little noises and he's good as gold. He doesn't nap as good during the day, he likes to take lots of little cat naps instead of a couple really long naps, hopefully that will change when he gets bigger.

He's starting to enjoy his swing a lot more and he hardly ever gets tummy aches anymore. I can't believe how easy he's been these days. He still has rough days where he gets fussy, but they are getting fewer and fewer. It's so nice. He's adorable with Jordan and he grins a lot now. Real grins, not the gassy ones, it's so fun! He's doing better with his baths too. My aunt told us to try getting a hand towel wet and laying it on top of him during his bath....he loves it! He's so calm and he actually enjoys his baths now and so do we.

He's funny when we're changing his diaper, he doesn't scream anymore for one thing. But he does this thing now where he lifts his legs as if to help us out, it's so cute. He adores his Grandma and Grandpa Olson. You can see it on his face when they're around, he's so happy. I love watching them with him. They both adore him and I'm so glad. He's definitely one pampered little boy. My mom is constantly buying things for him. She went with me to Babies R Us the other day, I had to pick up a bottle warmer for us to use at night, and I ended up leaving with a nifty little bath seat, new blankets, a new binkie attachment, and a bunch of bibs all paid for by Grandma. :) Then yesterday she came home with a Graco Pack N Play...which we needed...and Tobi loves it, he does so good in it.

His hair is still crazy and uncontrollable and makes me laugh all the time. He's just so cute and his personality is starting to shine and I love it. Being a mom is great, especially when you have a little boy as good and sweet as mine!
