Bronwyn's Bridal Shower
My brother is getting married in a couple of weeks so this last weekend I hosted a bridal shower for his fiance, Bronwyn. We decided to do an openhouse, which I've never done before, but it turned out really good. She got a lot of cool giftcards and had a very good turnout. We had some yummy snacks and played a fun candy jar guessing game. We got to meet several members of Bronwyn's family which was really fun and I'm glad they were able to make it. A lot of them had quite the drive to get there. Aunt Carol came, she's such a sweetheart and it's always so great to see her. We had a lot fun and I'm glad that Bronwyn let me do her shower for her.
Congratulations Bronwyn!
Jocelyn's Bridal Shower
My good friend Jocelyn is getting married this week and I had the great honor of throwing her bridal shower last weekend. It was my first one and I feel like it turned out very good. Jocelyn and I worked on the invite together and it turned out SUPER cute. We played some really fun games and had some really yummy food. She had a really good turnout and totally made out like a bandit. We did a gift card shower for her since they already have a lot of their living supplies, and it worked great! After her shower we all went to Walmart together to scope out a really cool table that she and Steve had their eye on. It was a lot of fun and I'm really glad that I had the opportunity to do that for her.
Congratulations Jocelyn!
Congratulations Jocelyn!
Happy Birthday Dad!
Yesterday was my dad's birthday and we all went over to my parents house for a BBQ. We grilled some hamburgers and some salmon that Chace and Ricky brought for my dad. It was so yummy! Jordan and I went all out on the burger toppings and I also made some Suddenly Salad (I was nervous because my family is very picky about food) that turned out to be a favorite with the boys...surprise surprise! We gave my dad some money to get some fishing supplies that he needed, and he also got the first two seasons of Breaking Bad. He also got a new BBQ that we went ahead and gave to him a couple months ago so he could use it through the summer. After dinner, we all got together in the living room and played Just Dance on the wii. It was hilarious! My whole family got into it and everyone took turns dueling everyone else, it was so much fun. My brothers are so much fun and it was a blast playing with Bronwyn too. I'm so excited to have her in the family. My mom baked a chocolate cake, my dad's favorite, and all in all it turned out to be a super fun birthday party.
Happy Birthday Dad!

The monkey pillow
We are still in love with Tobi's big boy car seat, however, because of the angle of the seats when it's rear facing it doesn't recline as much as it would if it were forward facing. So when he falls asleep, his poor little head droops and it makes me so sad! We were at Walmart the other day and they had those little neck pillows to help with droopy heads in the car seat, so I bought one. I put Tobi in his seat and put the little monkey around his neck. At first he got this funny look, then he was cool with it. Well, two minutes down the road he FREAKED. So now I can't decide if I should return it or give it another try a little bit later.
So much for that.
So much for that.
He's mobile...
Tobi has started crawling this last week and we are SO excited! We totally thought he was going to be one of those babies that just never crawls, but he got it. He's not completely up on his hands and his knees, but he's doing a super quick little army crawl and he really gets around! It's been a big adjustment and we've had to go through and really baby proof some stuff now that he's moving around. I have to be careful opening doors, and rethink things that I leave on the floor. He loves that he can move around better and his favorite place to go is the kitchen, which is a problem for me because of the dog food and water. I'm going to have to figure something out there. I'm sure it won't be long before he does get up on his knees, I'm so excited!
Happy Birdthday Andrew!
We celebrated my brother's 22nd birthday this week. Holy cow! Is he really getting that old? Crazy! It's so weird to not be little anymore, and to see my brothers growing up right behind me. We gave him Clash of the Titans on DVD and then my dad took us all out to dinner at Sizzlers (where Tobi threw up in poor Bronwyn's face) and it was SO yummy. I've always loved Sizzlers and it was nice to be able to go out with the fam.
Happy Birthday Andrew! We love you!

The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Alright....I started off the day this morning by being woken up early by Jordan, telling me he can't get Saturday off this weekend (for a very exciting camping trip) because someone on his shift has quit without notice.....again. So we're very bummed and try to tell ourselves that it's probably for the best because we already have a busy weekend anyway....which helps but we're still bummed. Then Tobi wakes up and decides to be SUPER whiney, which grates on my nerves so bad. My cat has been testing me by getting on the table, the counter, playing behind the gameshelf, etc. I yell at her but she waits until I get up to come after her to take off and stop what she's doing. SO FRUSTRATING. Today was one of those days when I seriously considered getting rid of the poor beast. THEN, I put Tobi down for a nap and all is quiet so I get in the shower, only to come out to the sound of him crying....still. I go in to get him and he's somehow broken his mobile.
He broke his freaking mobile!!!
Busted the plastic support "beam" right in half and is upset because his broken mobile is lying on top of him (doesn't weigh much and was separated in a couple pieces, he was totally fine). So now he gets to go to sleep without his little lullaby tune because I didn't have time to fix the dang thing. I still can't believe he broke it. So having my hope of a decent nap dashed, I start packing him up to go to my mom's for the day. As I'm loading the car, I notice a paper taped to our door. It's a notice from the main office letting us know that if we stay another six months, unfortunately, our rent will go up by twenty dollars. Which we were expecting anyway, but did they really have to post that on my door TODAY? Tobi is still whining the whole time I'm getting ready to go. I get him and my dog in the car and decide we're stopping at Common Cents for a coke. My day is sucking big time. We hit the free way and I realize that not only did I forget to bring the printer that I told my mom they could have, I FORGOT THE FREAKING DIAPER BAG!!!
Seriously? Seriously?!
I'm too pissed to turn around and go all the way back for it, so I stop at the store to get some formula (I kind of needed more anyway so it wasn't a huge setback). So then I'm hoping that Tobi doesn't have a blowout or serious vomit issue, because I have no backup outfit. Lucky for me my mom has recently decided to stock her own diapers, wipes, gerbers, bottles and juice at her house now. I just couldn't believe I'd forgotten the diaper bag. Do you know how many times I've done that? I either grab my purse and forget the diaper bag, or I grab the diaper bag and forget my dang purse.
And there is more! It's Andrew's birthday so my dad takes us all to dinner at Sizzlers. We get there and I get Tobi all settled in his high chair and we're doing great. Dinner is yummy, everything dangerous is out of Tobi's reach, he's eating his puffs and drinking his juice. We start telling stories and Andrew comments on how it sucks that babies are so messy. And my dad tells us how this one time, they took me to Chuck A Rama when I was a baby, and I puked all over the table and it was so gross.
Can you guess what happens now?
Tobi chokes on a puff, scaring the crap out of poor Bronwyn sitting next to him, and then throws up all down himself and the high chair. GROSS! And since I don't have my diaper bag, I pathetically try to use wipes combined with a whole lotta napkins to clean it up. I finally get home (after Tobi whines the whole way in the back seat) and then Jessa almost gets gobbled by some losers crazy wolf-dog that's SUPPOSED to be on a leash! And as I'm getting pissed I realize that Jessa isn't on a leash either and I am one hell of hypocrite. I come inside all tired and worn out and Jessa is so excited to see Jordan she pees on the bed.
Why me? This is where I'm ready to cry. Jordan changes the bedding for me while I throw Whiner in the tub for a quick bath and send him off to slumber land....thank goodness! I am so ready for tomorrow because today has just been a....

Cold turkey
I stopped pumping this week and I only have one thing to say....
OUCH!
I am now through the worst of it though and I am LOVING the freedom! It's so nice to get up in the morning and not be chained to that stupid pump, and at night...I can just crawl into bed as soon as I'm ready! Tobi is doing great with occasional "doses" of formula and I am so much happier. I was so so so tired of pumping, I made it almost ten months and that's good enough for me. I am proud of myself. And Jordan says he's glad he doesn't have to listen to that pump anymore.

Nine months!
My little man is NINE months old and I have to say that so far, this last month has been the most fun. He is so chill and so happy. He loves people and it's nice to be able to pass him off when I need to and he's totally fine. We're starting to play with toys that are a little more complex and it's such a joy to watch him figure things out. He loves balls and things that open up. He also loves toys that make noise. Especially toys that make noise in response to something he does, not just random noise...if that makes sense. He's starting to sit up in the tub on his own which has allowed him to splash a LOT more and he loves it. He's been blowing some very goofy raspberries, taking his pitch up and down and really playing around with his vocal capabilities. He's a total chatterbox and still loves the sound of his own voice. He's still not crawling and I don't think he will. He mostly rolls and pivots to get himself where he wants to go. He's also entertaining himself a lot better now and he loves story time, especially when it's Daddy that reads to him. He's also learning how to feed himself, which is a total hoot. Most of it ends up stuck to his shirt, but he's figuring it out. He has been trying a lot of new foods which is also very exciting. He still loves icecream and now we can add cheetos, graham crackers, nilla wafers, and watermelon to the list. He still doesn't have teeth up front BUT....he has TWO molars, both on the top which I've heard is pretty crazy. I didn't know this but I guess molars are usually the last to come in or something like that. He's doing VERY good with his sippy cup, which makes me excited because when he hits a year, the bottles are retiring. He's holding his own bottle really well and he really enjoys being out and about running errands. Now that he can sit up really good, he gets to ride in the front of the shopping carts and he really likes that. It's really nice now that he's in his big boy seat too, it's so easy getting him in and out of the car. He's so much fun and Jordan and I both feel so blessed to have him. He makes me laugh everyday and I can't even begin to express how much he means to me.
Happy nine months baby T!

Recap
I did my post for our anniversary the other night and then later I was thinking I should have put down the details that made it so fun, that way it won't be forgotten. So I am doing a recap. Jordan got off work at noon on Saturday and we packed Tobi up and drove to a park in Lehi to meet Sean and Brynn, who were then going to take Monkey for the night. While at the park we got to FINALLY meet Becca, Mason, Katie, Randy, Paul, Tammy, Alex and many others in the Orgill family. We got to visit with Miriam and Curt (oh how we miss them!) and Tobi got to spend time with them as well. We left Tobi with S&B then headed out to Ikea. After having a yummy lunch in their food court, we searched the store for a comforter that we really wanted for Jordan, and then spent almost FORTY minutes in line waiting to pay because some crazy lady was causing grief for the cashier just ahead of us. After finally paying for our blanket, we stopped for some gas and then headed the wrong way trying to get back on the freeway. Then once we made it to the freeway, we got off in Murray instead of SLC because Jordan got confused and thought it was the exit for SLC. So we turned around...again....and got back on the freeway...again....and then finally arrived in SLC only to get lost trying to find our way to Blue Boutique. Jordan decided we would just park at the Gateway mall and walk, after all...it was only a couple blocks and traffic in SLC is too confusing. Well, turns out it was a lot more than just two blocks and both of us ended up with blisters on our feet (bad shoes)...plus, after making our purchase we both felt a little disappointed and thought Dirty Joes is a lot cooler. We walked back to the mall, my feet aching the whole way, and then both of us had to buy a new pair of shoes to get us through the rest of the night. We shopped the mall for about an hour, I ended up back at Payless for socks and a bandaid after my new shoes started rubbing the skin off my heel....yay, then Jordan and I changed our clothes...in the parking lot (scandalous right?) and then we went to The Roof for dinner. Because of the construction going on, we had to park in an underground lot that, I kid you not, was completely empty. It was more than a little eerie. We enjoyed our dinner though and then headed home to sort of enjoy our night without Tobi. I have to say that going to bed without Tobi in his crib next door was heartbreaking. It was beyond weird not having my baby. Jordan seemed to sleep fine but I was awake almost every two hours, checking my phone to see if Brynn needed me to come and get Tobi. When we woke up we drove to American Fork to see Inception with our friends Jocelyn and Steve. The movie was cool, and it was fun for Jordan and I to go, we don't get to see a lot of movies anymore. Once the movie got out, we booked it to Sean and Brynn's house, so excited to pick up our sweet boy. The rest of the day we spent relaxed at home. All in all, it was probably one of our best anniversary's so far.
