Spontaneous decisions

Um....this is our new cat.
She doesn't have a name yet but she is super cute. Jordan and I decided today that it would be nice for Jessa to have a friend when we're not home. We really didn't want to deal with another dog and we thought a cat wouldn't be too bad. We're gonna see how it goes, but so far we're pretty happy with her. She's very spunky and already acts like she owns the place.
Now if we could just decide on a name......

SIX MONTHS!

My baby turned six months old this week!!!
I cannot believe it's already been six months. He is such a little ham and I love him so much. He is such a fantastic little boy and I am so grateful to have him.
This last month he has started giving hugs....so cool! He's been a little more cuddly and he's starting to reach for people that he recognizes which is making hearts swell through the family favorites. He's practicing his balance so that he can learn to sit up on his own. We can tell he's trying which makes us so proud. He's had a lot of new hair grow in and we love it! We've taught him to pop his lips, which took less than a day, and lately that's all he does. The last week or so he's been doing this funny little fake cough (I've heard that some babies do that) which he thinks is pretty cool. He totally recognizes his bottle now and although he's holding it himself pretty good, he still hasn't figured out that he needs to tip it up. He's had his first taste of cake, which he thought was quite different, and he's eating his gerber foods a lot better. Lately he's really been liking the pears.
He's starting to splash in the tub and he loves his water toys. It makes me so excited to take him swimming as soon as the weather warms up (hopefully not too much longer). I think he'll really like it.
Here's looking forward to month seven!

Sean's Graduation

This week has been packed full of festivities, Sean's graduation being one of the most talked about for oh.....the last year at least. Well it finally came! Sean graduated on Friday afternoon which was followed by a super yummy dinner with the fam at Los Hermanos. We shared our table with the adorable Kathy, Sara and Chelsea and then Jayson as well. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we totally oinked on chips and salsa!
Saturday we got to go to the graduation party, which was AMAZING, great job Brynn! She throws the best parties and will always be on my party planning team. We had a really yummy BBQ and got to watch Sean open all of his graduation gifts. He totally made out like a bandit and he more than earned all of it. We got him the first three seasons of Heroes on blue-ray since Robert got him a blue-ray player. We are so proud of him and so excited for him to finally be done with school.
Congratulations Sean!

Happy #24

I turned 24 this week and I'd like to say I feel older....but I feel just the same. It's weird how time passes like that. I had a really good birthday. Jordan made the sweetest slide show of all our best moments since we got married for me. Brynn sent me to Clique (coolest place EVER) to get my toes done and then I picked out the cutest pair of white wedges as a birthday treat from me. My mom treated us to lunch at Costa, which was delicious, and then she and my dad came by later with some more birthday goodies for me. The next day, we all met at PF Changs for my birthday dinner and I got more birthday goodies from Chace and Ricky. Jordan always laughs when birthdays roll around in my family because for us, birthdays are a week long event. He didn't get that when he was a kid and it still surprises him when my family goes all out for him. Birthdays are so special and I can't wait to celebrate Tobi's birthday every year. Jordan and I both want his birthdays to be as big as mine were growing up.

Eli's Birthday Shindig

We've had all kinds of birthday fun this weekend! Tonight we went to my Aunt Brenda's house for Eli's birthday shindig. He is two years old and such a cutie! We don't get to see my mom's side of the family too often and I've found that I miss them a lot! It was so fun to go and visit with everybody. Sarah and Lindsay both are having babies this year (so much fun!!) and I'm so excited for both of them. There's nothing that compares with the joy of being a mother. Djadon and Maasen are growing right up and I'm missing it. I remember when they were tiny and now they're.....teenagers.
Crazy!
And Cooper....what a hoot he is! We missed Travis's girls and a few others, but all in all I'd say it was a pretty good turnout. We had yummy BBQ hot dogs and clam dip (my favorite!) and lots of other delicious food. Eli was so cute opening up his gifts. I'm very happy that we were invited and that we got to go. It really makes the important things in life stand out so much clearer. There are so many family members I don't know, or that I'd like to know better. I think that it's the relationships you have in life that really matter. Those close connections within growing families. It's such a joy to share our lives with one another.
Happy Birthday Eli!
We're so happy we got to come to your party!

Birthday...blowout? (caution--contains gross-ness)

I don't know if I've mentioned this yet on my blog, but Tobi LOVES to poop at Auntie Brynn's house and sure enough, today was no exception. We were just getting ready to leave and Brynn leaned in to give him kisses and tell him goodbye when she noticed he was smelling a little ripe. I took a whiff and oh yeah....I knew his diaper was full. At that point I get a little nervous because EVERY time he poops in his car seat, it goes up his back.
And I really liked the outfit he was in.
So we pulled him out of his car seat and laid him down on his belly. I could only see a little bit of poop speckles on his shirt so I figured it wasn't too bad. So I unbutton him and this is what we find...

GROSS!!!
I was DYING! Seriously.
Brynn sent Noah to Ellie's room for more wipes (my pathetic little wipe case was not gonna cut it this time) and she and I went to work on cleaning up the poor little guy. I was gagging, it was so bad. Probably his worst blowout to date. Noah and his friend Makayla (spelled right?) helped us out by holding the trash bag and provided some pretty funny commentary.
Oh the joys of parenting.

Noah's Superhero Birhday Party

We got to go to Noah's super cool super hero birthday party this morning,
and it was so much fun!
Tobi got his own little super hero cape (which looked ADORABLE on him) and Noah was so excited for it to be his big day. The house was decorated awesome as usual (Brynn is the best party planner EVER) and his cake!........so cool!
He had a really great turnout, I've never seen so many kids at a birthday party in my life. It seemed like they all had a good time and I'm so glad we got to go and experience that with him. He's such a funny little boy and I'm very grateful for the time I get to spend with him.
Happy Birthday Noah!
We love you!
